“We find delight in the beauty and happiness of children that makes the heart too big for the body.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-82)
“The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time each day.”
— M. Grundler
I was completly humbled this morning while walking Rebakah to school. Actually I think it started as soon as I woke up. She was already ready for school when I got downstairs and she was so proud of herself. I sat on the sofa as she came over, gave me a big hug, and sat on my lap to watch TV!
Then walking to school with her I found myself lost in her unconditional happiness. Just getting 15 minutes of absolute 1:1 as we walk to school is so uplifting. She really made me realise what it’s all about. It was one of those moments where all the crap surroundng your life just fades into the background, the humdrum of life goes silent, and you hear her words like a nightingale as your heart slowly beats out a contented rhythm.
“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”
— Angela Schwindt
“Parents learn a lot from their children about coping with life.”
— Muriel Sarah Spark (b. 1918)
So true Chris, so very true. Well put 🙂
