Nivea have a range of adverts for their mens products running on the radio at the moment. I heard one this morning that tickled me so I thought I’d mention it here and give them a few minutes of free ad time on my blog!
In the background you can here the sound of a ZX Spectrum loading a game. The voice over says “Does the sound of Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy loading, tingle your skin… then you need Nivea for Men…” blah blah blah.
The real scarey thing is; I know it wasn’t Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy that was loading – it sounded wrong!
Nivea, Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Advertising, ZX Spectrum, Retro
They seem to be aiming for a particular age group 🙂 Funny thing is, I have the feeling I could also ‘hear’ which game is loaded, within limits. Very formative times, those.
Chris, that is too sad, even for an ageing geek like you! 😉
Nivea for Men: Basically the same products as their female range, only about £3 more expensive per item for half as much. As if we men will fall for such nonsense! Now excuse me whilst I find my facial scrub… it’s here somewhere, never go out before using it….
I could probably remember the sound of DDR loading, the last 20 seconds or so were very memorable, just before it crashed!
I use Nivea for men, but only because someone bought it for me last Chrsitmas. The fact I’ve not run out yet probably explains how often I use it and how good I think it is.
Man thats sooooo sad!! (although *ahem*…. I know exactly what you mean….) 🙂
