I didn’t know what to expect when I sat down to watch Little Miss Sunshine. I hadn’t heard that much about it apart from the fact that it appeared in the running at the oscars and indeed won some things… anyway… what a great film.
It’s a dramatic comedy film about a family’s road trip to a children’s beauty pageant… with a pretty disfunctional family. it seems rather odd but it had me laughing so much; it also has some tender moments as well… well worth a watch! [imdb]
I watched the first 2 episodes of the much acclaimed Heroes last night on BBC2. Well, err, it was, ok! ( When I hear myself typing that I hear Frank N Furter saying… O.K? I think we can do a little better than that. )
The production values seemed a little cheap, which is a suprise considering how much each episode is meant to cost. If you compare the look of it to Lost, then Lost wins hands down.
I didn’t think the acting was all that great, in particular Sendhil Ramamurthy playing Mohinder Suresh. However that could have been down to the poor script that he had.
Much of the script and story seemed tired and hackneyed, with a number of inconsistencies. The biggest one that I couldn’t shake off was; Hiro lives in Japan and he and those around him talk Japanese. This is supported with Sub Titles.
Mohinder Suresh starts in India and he and those around him all speak English with poor Indian accents… what’s that about? It might actually be correct, that might be how it is, however it just felt wrong when up against Hiro’s story. Reading the Heroes Wiki there appears to be more inconsistencies with this character…
Mohinder is from Chennai in the series and appears to be a Hindu, but his first name is Sikh. His last name is characteristically South Indian.
All in all, it was good enough to allow me to watch a few more episodes, but it will have to get a great deal better to keep me interested.
I was idling some time today over lunch, and for some reason while browsing around Amazon I clicked on watches. I think the first watch that came up was for about £20. I’m thinking, if I was buying a watch I’d probably pay a little more than £20 so I’ll sort on Price – High to Low…
The first watch to come up was Breitling Bentley GTK13362. It’s a bargain at the moment because you can save 18% at the moment. That’s £4,445.00!!! Yep it’s currently down from £24,695.00 to £20,250.00!
Now, the first page of watches listed in this fashion are all over £5k – in fact, you have to go through 20 pages before you get a watch under £1K. That’s about 450 watches for babyliss pro miracurl steamtech. Now, I’m fully aware that there are some rather expensive watches out there, but the point is, the thing that I really need to know, the question that will trouble my sleep tonight, is; who, in their right mind, who has over twenty thousand pounds, burning a hole in their pocket, goes to Amazon to order it? And, do they tick the Super Saver Delivery option?
