Damned Birds…

I took my car to the garage yesterday; it was ready for its 90k service. As part of the service the garage gives the car a clean, which is a good thing as I hardly ever do… 🙁

So, I pick my nice sparkly car up and head over to work where I leave it in the car park for the next 8 hours… I leave the office at 7 o’clock and walk down to the car…

THE BASTARDS…

My card has been bombarded by bird shit. Not just the odd one from a passing bird; this is full on total attack. The car is absolutely covered. Hundreds of hits! It as if they were waiting for me to get a clean car so that they could all take a turn… maybe some rights of passage for the seagulls or the geese…

Now I’m going to gave to clean it at the weekend!

The Green Mile

The Green MileI’ve just finished reading ’s The Green Mile. I watched the film a few months ago and loved it and just knew I had to read the book.

was originally published in 6 serialised books. However, the version I read was a complete book version. The only thing to remember about reading it that way is to take a break between the definate book breaks. This is just to give you chance to allow the “previously in” sections to work to full affect. I have to say the device King uses to give you a refresher works remarkable well and isn’t at all a long summary of the previous book.

I loved the book as well! It makes me sad and tugs at emotions in ways than many other books just fail to achieve.

Coffee break

It’s funny, well it isn’t really, it’s kind of more interesting.

Every morning I get a coffee from the IBM coffee shop; small black. Every afternoon around 3 o’clock and walk down to the coffee shop and get another, small black. I’ve pretty much done this everyday for the last 3 months. Needless to say, the girls in the coffee shop now what i drink and that i love this pour over coffee maker. I pretty much no longer need to ask for the coffee, just place my ID card into the machine and get billed for it.

What it got me to thinking was; these girls don’t just remember the drink that I have, after all I am only one in 5 thousand employees in the offices and I have only been at the company for a mere 3 months, but they remember the drinks that many people have… so, just how much useless stuff do they store in their heads and how long will it stay there for? If I meet one of them again in 30 years, will they know what I used to drink?
