It’s a brisk frosty morning this morning. The temperature is down and Jack Frost has painted the world his particular colour of white. It seems the spiders have been productive over the course of the night, my house is covered in webs. This is a view from my bathroom window… click on the images for a closer look.

Well today has ended on a real downer! Over 5 years ago Fergus McNeill and I designed a game Happy Soccer Boss – it’s a football game with a difference. There are a number of special things about it that I don’t want to go into here, mainly because they are still “secret” and the other is that we have a patent pending on part of it. However, a big premis of the game still revolves around football, and a particular way the football is played. It has a lot to do with powerups, 5 aside, special moves, cute characters, and much much more…
Over the last 5 years we’ve hawked it around to pretty much everyone who is anyone in the games industry, and everyone has loved it… just not enough to sign us to develop it. And because we can’t afford to just develop it ourselves, it’s been one of theose projects sitting on the sides waiting for us to get the chance to do it.
Tonight I saw an advert for Super Mario Smash Football on the TV… and it’s pretty much Happy Soccer Boss; a quick search online for some pictures, and the confirmation looks like it’s there… Smash Football looks to me like Happy Soccer Boss – I’m gutted!
This is not the first time this has happened to me, but it is definatley the most annoying!

I am going to try and get this project going by blogging about it. I’m going to tell you want I am up to, and what I achieve a little bit at a time. And hopefully that will keep me building the project, one bit at a time.
Anyway, in the spirit of that; here is the current situation. |inline
The leaves have come down heavy today. Our garden has plenty of large trees on the perimeter fence. Horse Chestnut and Oak, however it always suprises me every year the different stages these trees are at. Looking out from my study window, the view in the picture, there are two trees that are so much earlier than all the rest. They are only about 50 metres at most from the rest of the trees, but they always flower, leaf, produce conkers, and drop their leaves before the rest. By about 2 weeks. As you can see they have already done their autumn shedding. However, the rest of the trees started the big push today… so my garden is now covered in a blanket of leaves.

AutumnMy back is getting a little better. Yesterday was pretty bad and I spent most of it on the sofa, but today I getting about reasonably ok. Yesterday wasn’t a complete waste though, as I managed to watch the first 7 episodes of Twin Peaks. I wish they’d hurry up and get the others out…
