Have you ever heard anything so daft? – it’s like; “I wanted to be a soldier, but I’m not sure about this war business!”

Channel-4 News has been running some spoof Party Political Broadcasts >>here< < they have been made through the Quiet Storm ad agency by Lee Ford and Dan Brooks, creators of 2005's most forwarded viral email, the spoof TV commercial where a suicide bomber blows himself up in a VW Polo. This is their take on the nature of the party political broadcast.
Labour – Wakeup
Liberal Democrats – Safe Hands
Conservative – Clean Me
The Labour and Lib ones are ok, they are amusing and most definately a spoof… I’m not sure that the Lib one is not actually a “Vote For Labour” ad, it seems to demonise Conservatives. not have much to say about labour, but take the piss out of the Liberal Democrats.
However, the Conservative one is inspired… if I was of the nature to be moved by such things to actually make my mind up, then this one would do it for me. It is way better than anything the conservatives are doing at the moment. I think that film alone would get any floating voters with conservative tendancies to get off their arse and vote.
BBC NEWS | Technology | Do Firefox browser bugs matter?
I’m not a fan of Bill Thompson, generally I find that he is someone who has managed to forge a living telling less technologically able people something about technology, in a dreary and annoying way. He is however a better journalist than I…
In this article he talks about whether bugs in open source software are really a problem, because of the open source nature of the software. Now most of what he talks about is utter drivel (sorry Bill) but he does start with and interesting point which I would hope is at least well researched, and that is:
The Firefox open source browser is full of bugs, some of which are rather serious
And then concludes about that:
Since one of the main reasons people give for moving to Firefox from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) is that IE is full of bugs and vulnerable to attack, this might seem to show that it does not matter which browser you use, since you are still going to be in trouble.
Which is generally one of the few things that I think I agree with him on…
Came across this yesterday. It’s a blog mapper. Basically you enter your blog and your location and you can then see how your blog exists in the real world relative to other bloggers… neat idea, not sure home much use it is.
You can then place something like the following on your blog…
I added an anti spam measure to my comments yesterday, hopefully this will cut down the 300+ comment spams I get every week. Wouldn’t mind getting a comment to let me know that it still works…
