Bonfire Night

fireworks.jpgWe were out for a Fireworks party on Saturday night at our friends Darren, Gail, and their little girl Ellie. A good time was had by all… kids stayed up till late which meant we paid for it on Sunday. As usual Gail put on good food and there was plenty of booze to go around. Fantastic display of fireworks, although we want 3 out of 3 Catharine Wheels next time Darren! I think there were only a couple of stray rockets and I don’t recall any falling back on us like they did last year! 🙂

Victoria supplied the pre-requisite Parkin and , for which we take much ridicule from our southern friends, however no Bonfire night is complete without them. Next year I think we will need to add Potato Pie and some we’ll be sorted! 🙂

One Day In History

One Day In History

It was another 6:30am start this morning, out for a small run as usual, uneventful even if it was a little harder than the normal run; 5-aside football at 9:30pm last night saw to that.. My calf isn’t pulling as badly as it was on friday so the run was a little easier in that respect, but it’s suprising how much the darkness affects you in the morning.

The trip from Fordingbridge to North Harbour was equally uneventful other than the normal picturesque drive along Roger Penny Way, one of the New Forest high points, before descending down to the belly of hell that is the M27. Suprisingly however, the m27 was pretty smooth running, so I was in work for 8am.

The day in my offices at IBM was frantic to say the least; a server upgrade that should have taken place on Friday is still going very very wrong. I’m only indirectly involved, having inherited development responsibility for an application that needs to be deployed on the new server, so it isn’t impacting on me. The whole process has been an utter shambles!

Stonehenge – Summer Solstice 2006

Well, I’ve just got back from where I was for the . That’s now the third year on the trot. It was a little different this year as it was cloudy and rainy. It was on off slow drizzle from about 0:00am and then absolutley tipped it down at around 2am. The sun should have appeared at about 4:50am but it didn’t really clear the clouds until 6am. But despite the clouds and the rain, it was still an enjoyable experience. I really want to get the in this year…

Space Bastards

Space BastardsI had to go into the loft over the weekend in order to get some stuff that was placed at the bottom of some box, that was placed under some other boxes, at the back of the loft, behind a lot of other boxes… you get the idea. Anyway I came across some model Space Bastards. These were made for a promo campaign when the game was released.

bastard_parts.jpgI have two of them. One needed a slight repair due to being stored in a box with lots of nasty other things. The other was in a number of pieces. He’d been attacked while guarding my desk at the office… he might be part of the most deadly group of tyrants to have roamed the universe, but he was no match for our office cleaner, who clean took him out with the hoover!

Art Attack

Rebekah - Art AttackRebekah went to bed last night and obviously couldn’t sleep… it’s an afliction she seems to get from me, we are both night owls. Anyway, we heard her moving around in her room for a while, so she was obviously up to something. When we went in to check on her later in the night we were greated by this…

Now, just in case the picture doesn’t do it justice, it’s two people lying under a parasol at the beach. You can see the beach and the sea with some sea creatures, the sun in the top corner, and she has arranged the clothing accordingly to create the people.
