In keeping with the photo in the Daily Mail, I don’t think that I ever mentioned that my photograph of the Duke of Wellington room at Apsley House, was used in an online Travel Guide by Scmap.
It was taken when Victoria and me stayed there.
Photos, Duke of Wellington, Hotel, B&B, Apsley House, BathAs I mentioned other other day, the Dail Mail wanted to use one of my pictures for their Island Plastics article on plastic bags. As it turns out, it’s not just an article but a campaign. Anyway, the picture got printed on page 3 of the Daily Mail today! Wehey! So chuffed! It was also seen on the BBC news and available online!

I didn’t pay anything for it, I got it as part of my current Broadband Package. Basically one day a sales person from BT phoned up and said; “If you agree to sign up for another year to your broadband package, we will reduce the cost by £2 a month and thrown in this BT Vision thingy for you…”
No brainer really… apart from the fact that apparently I can’t recieve freeview and I need the BT Home Hub which I don’t use. Anyway, I decided to set it up anyway… plugged it into my router instead of the Home Hub, plugged it into the aerial… and off we go… all the Freeview channels with interactivity and recording and playback and…
The kids are happy because they now have proper access to CBeebies and CBBC!
So I finally moved closer to the world of Digital… but I kept my side of the bargain… I didn’t pay anything for it… didn’t even have to change the aerial as I expected to! I told you that they would need to make me move over!
BT Vision, TV, FreeviewI recieved my iMac just before christmas; all in all I’m very happy with it. I know it’s going to take some getting used to, especially because much of the custom software development appears to be about style rather than functionality. The installation process was flawless, from turn on to surfing the net in minutes! There are a few quirks about it that annoy me a little but I’m still transitionaling… more on this subject later.
