Beanz

Snack PotsSo I’m watching TV last night when I see and advert for Heinz Snak pots. Apparently…

“Preparing Heinz Beanz and Pasta has never been simpler,” says Nathan Ansell, Senior Brand Manager, Heinz Beanz. “Snap, heat and eat. That’s how easy it is for consumers who want a great tasting, super convenient snack Cuisinart food processor .

So cooking Baked Beans is difficult and slow? FFS!

BT Vision

I got BT Vision over the festive period… actually I got it a week or so before but I didn’t get round to installing it until the holiday period.

I didn’t pay anything for it, I got it as part of my current Broadband Package. Basically one day a sales person from BT phoned up and said; “If you agree to sign up for another year to your broadband package, we will reduce the cost by £2 a month and thrown in this BT Vision thingy for you…”

No brainer really… apart from the fact that apparently I can’t recieve freeview and I need the BT Home Hub which I don’t use. Anyway, I decided to set it up anyway… plugged it into my router instead of the Home Hub, plugged it into the aerial… and off we go… all the Freeview channels with interactivity and recording and playback and…

The kids are happy because they now have proper access to CBeebies and CBBC!

So I finally moved closer to the world of Digital… but I kept my side of the bargain… I didn’t pay anything for it… didn’t even have to change the aerial as I expected to! I told you that they would need to make me move over!

The Hooded Man

I was unfortunate enough to watch “Dr Hood”, I mean “Robin Who”, er… Robin Hood on BBC over the weekend. Boy, am I sooooooooooo glad that I missed the first series. Not since Dr Who have I seen such poor acting and badly written scripts. If I didn’t know any better I would have sworn that Russel T Davis had his hand in this pile of horse manure.

Where have all the Heroes gone?

HeroesI watched the first 2 episodes of the much acclaimed last night on BBC2. Well, err, it was, ok! ( When I hear myself typing that I hear Frank N Furter saying… O.K? I think we can do a little better than that. )
The production values seemed a little cheap, which is a suprise considering how much each episode is meant to cost. If you compare the look of it to , then Lost wins hands down.
I didn’t think the acting was all that great, in particular playing Mohinder Suresh. However that could have been down to the poor script that he had.
Much of the script and story seemed tired and hackneyed, with a number of inconsistencies. The biggest one that I couldn’t shake off was; Hiro lives in Japan and he and those around him talk Japanese. This is supported with Sub Titles.
Mohinder Suresh starts in India and he and those around him all speak English with poor Indian accents… what’s that about? It might actually be correct, that might be how it is, however it just felt wrong when up against Hiro’s story. Reading the Heroes Wiki there appears to be more inconsistencies with this character…

Mohinder is from Chennai in the series and appears to be a Hindu, but his first name is Sikh. His last name is characteristically South Indian.

All in all, it was good enough to allow me to watch a few more episodes, but it will have to get a great deal better to keep me interested.

Doctor What…?

I watched for the first time in ages, well the first time since became foot doctor Mississauga, well actually I only watched the first three with as the ninth Doctor… anyway… what a pile of old tosh!

The production looks like a cheap old American made for TV movie, actually a bit more like their TV adaptations of things by . The acting is terrible all round, including Mr Tennant ( sorry Marie ) and the story was awful… how do these scripts get made?

BTW: Ecclestone seemed a better Doctor than Tennant.
